Pumpkin Patch '13

Eli was pretty excited about the pumpkin patch this year...

We went to an equestrian center about 10 minutes away from us so there were horses, chickens, pigs, hay rides, and of course, pumpkins! So awesome, right? We took our time looking at all the horses, but Eli really liked the "baby" pig named Bacon. He has no fear of any of these animals and was sticking his little fingers in all the cages. He also picked out his favorite "baby" pumpkin (he really likes baby things) and carried it around as he chased chickens and played on the swing set. Anna loved looking around at all the new sights, too. She is so interested in everything and both the kids had a blast. We forgot the stroller at home, so after we picked out our pumpkins, we had to carry a 2 year old (he didn't want to leave so we had to drag him out of there kickin' and screamin'), a huge 6 month old, two pumpkins, and my camera out to the car. The kids are exhausting! ;)

We let Eli paint his pumpkins and he is pretty proud of them. This was his first time using paint and he picked up on my instructions right away. One color at a time, swish the paintbrush in the water when you're done, etc. He is all boy, so I was worried that our garage was going to look like Crayola threw up in there, but he actually sat down and painted the pumpkins and the pumpkins only! He did them all by himself with the exception of asking me to draw a train on one. That boy loves trains!
